As the final event in the Jefferson College 2016-17 PACE (Performing Arts and Cultural Enrichment) series, a cast of more than 45 students, community members and staff will present the summer musical production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” directed by Communication and Theatre Professor Dr. Rebecca Ellison.
Centered around one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” is a love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and book by Doug Wright, the fable features many well-known songs like “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.”
Performances are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, June 16-17, at 7 p.m., Sunday, June 18, at 2 p.m., and Friday-Saturday, June 23-24, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 25, at 2 p.m. in the air conditioned Fine Arts Theatre on the Hillsboro campus.
Individual event tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students/senior citizens/matinee shows.
Advance tickets may be purchased by calling Dr. Rebecca Ellison at (636) 481-3367 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with date of performance, type and amount of ticket(s) to reserve. Reserved tickets need to be picked up at least 15 minutes prior to showtime or they will be sold to other patrons. Tickets will also be sold at the door depending on availability.
