The Cedar Hill Elks #2678 will once again hold its Classic Auto and Bike Show July 30 in the lodge parking lot.
Entrants can begin registering their vehicles at 9 a.m., and trophies will be awarded at 3:30 p.m.
“We have trophies for 10 different vehicle classes and three motorcycle classes,” said Tessa Folk, event chairman and lodge chaplain. “Plus, there additional trophies for Ladies Choice (ANY), Best of Show (CAR), Best Engine (CAR), Best Interior (CAR), Best Chrome (MOTORCYCLE), Best Paint (MOTORCYCLE) and Best of Show (MOTORCYCLE).”
New this year is Kid’s Choice for either a car or bike. Youth 15 and under can vote by putting the name of their favorite vehicle on a piece of paper and submitting it to the judges.
“The auto and bike show is a family-oriented event where everyone gets to participate in the activities,” said Folk. “We encourage parents to bring out their children and let them cast their votes.”
Adults and children can also enjoy treats such as funnel cake, finger foods and beverages and shop for merchandise at the vendor booths on hand. Additionally, there will be a 50/50 raffle available and several attendance prizes will be given out.
“Another unique treat is the bike wash,” said Folk. “For a donation, riders can have their motorcycles cleaned by several members of Canines in Crisis, Inc. All proceeds raised via the wash will go to support the organization based out of DeSoto.”
Money raised through the auto and bike show, however, will go to support Rally Against Heroin and into the Elks’ Veteran Fund. The event is free for spectators, but cost of registrants is $15. The first 100 entrants get a dash plaque for the vehicle.
“It’s sure to be another great show,” said Folk. “We invite the public to stop by, check out all the vehicles and have fun. There will also be an exhibition put on by Eppley Boxing and kickboxing out of Cedar Hill.”
The Elks Lodge is located on 8430 Industrial Drive in Cedar Hill. For more information about the event, call Tessa Folk at 314-435-5844.
